The basic rule with locks is that the best option is t take a D-Lock and use it with cables threaded through your wheels to ensure the best security. The most effective advice we can give is to consider your insurance, many home contents insurance will cover bicycles but they will have certain parameters such as a minimum security level, cycle specific insurance is also available, once again this will have parameters that must be adhered to.
5 Things to Consider:
1. Check your Insurance details to see if a security level is required
2. Are you going to have to carry it around with you (they can be really heavy)?
3. Can your wheels easily be removed from the bike, if so do you need to buy cables?
4. Are you going to mount the lock on your bike to take with you? Check it comes with a bracket.
5. Do you need a spare key?
